With its simple geometry and classical arrangement, Stockholm ’s Public Library is a difficult building to characterize. Designed by noted Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund during the 1920s, the Stockholms Stadsbibliotek 546 #1 of 11 Traveler Resources in Stockholm "Below the observatory hill in northern Stockholm stands an architectonic masterpiece, a sienna coloured brick building of a cylinder within a cube: the city's public library." Stockholm’s Public Library is along the northeast corner of Observatorielunden park in Stockholm's Vasastaden district. It’s open Monday through Friday from 10am to 9pm (except Tuesday, when it Stockholm City Library was created by world-famous architect Gunnar Asplund. The library has been listed as one of the world's most beautiful libraries. The facade is beautiful.
